There are numerous playground related injuries reported on an annual basis. Playground safety training is a must for staff from parks and recreation, school districts, child care facilities, health departments, landscape architects and others responsible for play equipment areas or playgrounds.
The BCRPA and CPRA offer two different training options both providing quality instruction on playground safety.
BCRPA Playground Safety Awareness Course
A one full-day course for those participants who need an introduction or refresher on playground safety and the Canadian Standards Association’s (CSA) Children’s Playspaces and Equipment Standards. This course introduces and reviews the skills and knowledge required to detect hazards and non-CSA compliant installations. Participants will learn the theory necessary to conduct a practical on-site playground inspection in class. A certificate of completion is provided following the session.
